DASS (Dual Architectural Synthesis System) is a sound generation technology that Yamaha used on electronic keyboards in the 1980s and early 1990s.

The DASS sound generator consists of two sets of synthesis systems, one is the FM (frequency modulation) sound generator, which consists of two operators, and the other is the PCM sampling system of YAMAHA, that is, 12-bit AWMplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_big高级波形记忆技术

In a typical DASS sound generator, musical instruments are usually implemented by FM algorithms, while percussion instruments are produced based on PCM samples. The effect of the DASS sound generator can be heard in models such as YAMAHA KB-100 / KB-100A.
