Compared to PSR-550, the following functions and features have been added.

  • Panel Voices upgrades, adding Live! Voices
  • Auto Accompaniment upgraded from two-variation to four-variation
  • Screen upgraded to black and white dots screen, which supports displaying music score and lyrics, etc.
  • Internal Flash Memory can be used to store user songs

Compared to PSR-550, the following functions and features have been removed or changed.

  • 480 XG Voices reduced to 361 XGlite Voices
  • Fingered on Bass mode was removed
  • Style Creator was removed
  • Multi Pad was removed
  • Mixing Console was removed
  • 16 tracks recording mode downgraded to 8 tracks + ACMP recording mode
  • DirectAccess button is removed, so you need to long press each function key to bring up the setting menu
  • No more selecting voices/styles by numbering
  • Regist Memory Freeze function was removed
  • Assignable Functions for pedals other than Sustain are removed
  • Standard five-pin MIDI interface was removed
